A 17-year-old worker named Saif Mollick died after being electrocuted while working on glass installation at a building site in Madaripur city. The incident occurred on October 28, 2026. According to local reports, Saif was assisting with the installation of glass panels when he came into contact with an exposed electrical wire. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The worker was employed at a construction site owned by a local contractor. His family alleges that the employer failed to provide proper safety equipment and did not ensure the site was free from electrical hazards. They have filed a complaint with the local authorities, demanding compensation. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
This is not the first such incident in the area. In the past year, at least three other workers have suffered fatal injuries due to electrical accidents on construction sites. Local labor rights groups have called for stricter enforcement of safety regulations and better oversight of construction projects. The incident has raised concerns about workplace safety in the region.
