The US Navy ship arrived in Chittagong Port on November 1, 2026, as part of a joint training exercise with the Bangladesh Navy. The vessel, identified as USS *Carr* (DDG-62), docked at the port to begin coordinated maritime operations.
The exercise, scheduled to last two weeks, includes joint navigation, communication protocols, and anti-piracy drills. Bangladesh Navy officials confirmed the participation of both navies in a series of tactical maneuvers. The event marks the first such collaboration between the two nations in over five years.
This training follows a renewed diplomatic engagement between the United States and Bangladesh, which has seen increased military and strategic cooperation. The joint drills aim to enhance regional security and interoperability between the two navies. The US has been strengthening its presence in South Asia amid rising regional tensions and maritime security concerns.
